It’s been only 4 months after the tragic
accident where their parents died, 17-year-old Elena Gilbert and her
younger brother 15-year-old Jeremy still keep trying to recover from
their loss and go back to normal life. In the beginning of a school year
Elena and her friends get interested in a new student, mysterious and
handsome Stefan Salvatore. Stefan and Elena like each other from the
very beginning but girl doesn’t even suspect that Stefan is a
100-year-old vampire who has been trying to live peacefully among people
despite the fact that his brother Damon is an embodiment of vampire
cruelty and bloodthirstiness. He's willing to annihilate his brother
Stefan and take possession of Elena. This is not the first time the 2
brothers lust after the same woman: in 1864 they were in love with a
beautiful vampire Katherine Pierce, whose bites made them both immortal.
The contemporary high school student Elena looks just like Katherine as
if she were her sister. TV series "The Vampire Diaries" is based on the
book series of the same name, written by Lisa Jane Smith.
